Hello.
Please allow me to introduce myself before we begin this journey together. My name is Ratia and I come to you not as a scientist or a theologian, but as a normal, everyday logical person and I'd like to share with you my reflections on the Bible, religion, and living as a non-believer in a religious world.
I've noticed that few people ever really read the Bible cover to cover. Even the most devout Christians rely on their ministers or priests to tell them what lies within it's mysterious pages and after reading it, I believe I know why. The voluminous amount of sheer absurdity and direct contradiction contained within it would be enough to turn any reasonable person away.
I began this project in December of 2012 armed with a skeptics eye and a handful of highlighters. Pink for misogyny. Green for violence. Purple for those WTF moments. And blue for God's body count. My Bible now looks like a rainbow puked on it, but I digress...
It's a great pleasure to meet you all and thank you for sharing in this bizarre journey with me. Let us begin, shall we?
